Istanbul is the one European destination where the airline decision is already made for you. Turkish Airlines flies nonstop from fourteen US airports to Istanbul Airport, and no US airline flies the route at all. So a business class flight to Istanbul is, in practice, a Turkish Airlines business class flight, and the question is not which airline but which fare. Select Business Class is a travel agency that books published and unpublished business class fares on Turkish and every airline connecting to Istanbul, for less than you'll find on the airline's own site. Here's how it works.
| From | Airlines | Flight time | Round trip |
|---|---|---|---|
| New York (JFK) | Nonstop: Turkish Airlines (JFK, EWR) | about 9h 35m | from $2,501* |
| Los Angeles (LAX) | Nonstop: Turkish Airlines | about 13h 5m | from $2,602* |
| Chicago (ORD) | Nonstop: Turkish Airlines | about 10h 20m | from $2,701* |
| Miami (MIA) | Nonstop: Turkish Airlines | about 11h 25m | from $2,314* |
| Denver (DEN) | Nonstop: Turkish Airlines | about 11h 45m | from $2,366* |
*Estimated round-trip fare per person, not a quote. Terms below.
Turkish Airlines is the only carrier with direct flights between the US and Istanbul, and it flies them year-round from New York JFK, Newark, Boston, Washington, Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, Detroit, Dallas, Houston, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. That is a bigger US network than most European flag carriers, and it is why airfare to Istanbul in business class is so often competitive: fourteen gateways is a lot of seats to fill.
The business cabin is lie-flat on every US route, but not every seat is equal. On the A350 and 787 the layout is 1-2-1, so every seat has direct aisle access and its own space. A number of 777s still carry the older 2-3-2 cabin, lie-flat but with middle seats and no privacy. Aircraft change by route and season, so ask your agent which one your dates fall on. Onboard, Turkish is known for the food, served by a flying chef on long-haul flights, and on the ground for its lounge at Istanbul Airport, one of the largest business class lounges in the world.
There is no first class cabin. If you've been searching for Turkish Airlines first class, business class is the top of the plane, and it's what we book.
Connecting options. When the Turkish nonstop is sold out or priced high on your dates, a one-stop itinerary through a European hub on Lufthansa, Air France, KLM, British Airways or Swiss often costs less, and from a departure city Turkish doesn't serve, such as Philadelphia, Phoenix or Minneapolis, it's the normal way to go. Qatar Airways via Doha and Emirates via Dubai also connect to Istanbul, though the routing is long. United Airlines, Delta and American don't fly to Istanbul at all, but their European partners do, so a United or Delta ticket to Istanbul is really a connection through Frankfurt, Amsterdam or Paris. We price all of them against the nonstop.
New York to Istanbul has the most flights, with Turkish operating from both JFK and Newark, several departures a day between them. It's a ten-hour flight, usually overnight, and the route where business class fares to Istanbul are lowest.
Chicago to Istanbul is around ten and a half hours and Washington to Istanbul around ten, both daily year-round. Miami, Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Dallas and Houston each have a daily or near-daily Turkish nonstop.
Los Angeles to Istanbul and San Francisco to Istanbul are the long ones at thirteen hours, and with Seattle and Denver they give the West Coast and Mountain states a nonstop that no other hub carrier matches from as many cities. LAX to Istanbul is the longest flight Turkish operates to the US, and on a thirteen-hour flight the lie-flat seat is the difference between arriving ready for a meeting and losing a day.
From anywhere else in the US we connect you on one ticket through the nearest Turkish gateway, or through Europe if that prices lower.
Looking for cheap business class flights to Istanbul? A cheap business class ticket to Istanbul is easier to find than on most transatlantic routes, because Turkish runs frequent business class sales and because so many of its Istanbul passengers are connecting onward, which leaves seats to sell on the US legs. Four things decide the fare.
June through September is peak, along with the Christmas and New Year weeks and the Turkish holiday periods around Eid, when families fly home and the cabins fill. November through March, holidays aside, is when business class to Istanbul is cheapest, and Istanbul in the off-season is a better city to walk than Istanbul in August.
The Turkish nonstop is usually the best value, but not always. A connection through Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam or London can come in well under the nonstop, especially from the West Coast, and it sometimes gets you a newer seat. We quote both.
Midweek departures price lower than Friday and Sunday, and many discounted fares to Istanbul require a Saturday night stay. Moving your departure by a day or two either way is often the single biggest saving.
Turkish sells part of its US business class cabin through contract fares that never appear on its own website or on flight search engines, and so do the European carriers connecting to Istanbul. Those unpublished fares are what we book, and they're how our clients save up to 60%* on published fares, even on the same Turkish flight. Fare rules on these tickets can differ from the airline's published ones, mostly around changes and refunds, and your agent will walk you through them before booking.
Business class passengers on Turkish get the full long-haul business class package, and it's worth knowing what's in it when you compare premium fares. At the airport: dedicated check-in counters, priority boarding, and fast-track security at Istanbul. Lounge access before departure at the airline's own or partner airport lounges in the US, and at the flagship Lounge Business at Istanbul Airport on the way home or in transit, which has cooked-to-order food, showers, a cinema and quiet rooms. Baggage: two checked bags of 32 kg each on US routes, double the economy allowance, and the extra baggage allowance is often the deciding factor for clients relocating or traveling with family. Onboard: a lie-flat seat, a multi-course meal service, an amenity kit and Wi-Fi. None of this changes with the fare you pay, so a discounted ticket booked through us gets the same premium service as one bought at full price from the airline.
Istanbul Airport, the new airport that replaced Atatürk in 2019, is Turkish's hub, sitting between Europe and Asia with onward flights to more countries than any other airline serves. Many of our clients fly business class to Istanbul on the way to somewhere else: the Turkish coast at Bodrum, Antalya and Izmir, or onward to the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa and India. We can book the whole itinerary on one ticket, and Turkish lets connecting passengers stop over in Istanbul for a few days at no extra fare, with a hotel included for business class passengers on longer layovers. Ask your agent to quote the stopover. It's the easiest way to add Istanbul to a trip that was going somewhere else.
For flights to the rest of the country, see our page on business class flights to Turkey.
Use the form on this page to send your route and dates, or call +1 (888) 424-4968. A dedicated agent calls back, usually within the hour, with two or three options, and if you're continuing beyond Istanbul, the whole itinerary priced on one ticket. Once you pick one and complete the secure booking form, the ticket is issued and confirmed within the hour. Changes, seat selection and stopover plans stay with the same agent, 24/7 by phone.
Select Business Class holds IATAN accreditation, is a registered Florida Seller of Travel, and is rated 4.8 out of 5 on Trustpilot. Round-trip business class is the most common booking, but we also book one-way tickets, multi-city itineraries through Istanbul, and open-jaw trips, such as into Istanbul and home from Antalya or Athens, whether the trip is business or leisure.

Topkapı Palace
Mehmed II built it between 1460 and 1478, and it was the sultans' main residence and seat of government until the mid-19th century. It became a museum on 3 April 1924.
Hagia Sophia
Today's building is the third Hagia Sophia on the site, built by Justinian I in 532–537 after rebels in the Nika Revolt destroyed the second. A mosque from Mehmed II's conquest of the city, it became a museum by a decree of 24 November 1934 and reopened for worship in 2020.
Istanbul Archaeological Museums
Founded in 1869 as the Imperial Museum, it holds the sarcophagi Osman Hamdi Bey brought back from the royal necropolis at Sidon in 1887–1888, the Alexander Sarcophagus among them. The Tiled Pavilion, built under Mehmed II and dated to 1472, opened as a museum in 1880.
Dolmabahçe Palace
Built for Sultan Abdülmecid on a filled-in bay of the Bosphorus, it housed six sultans and the last caliph from 1856, and Atatürk stayed here at intervals between 1927 and 1938 and died here. The 285-room palace has been a museum with its original furnishings since 1984.
Galata Tower
The Genoese built it in the mid-14th century as part of the walls of Galata, then their colony, and the Ottomans used it as a dungeon and later as a fire lookout. Since its 2020 restoration it has been a museum of Istanbul's history, with a panoramic view from the top floor.
Grand Bazaar (Kapalıçarşı)
Mehmed II began it in 1461 with the Cevahir and Sandal bedestens, built to bring in income for Hagia Sophia, and the bazaar grew around them over the next 250 years. Many of its streets and hans still carry the names of the trades once practised in them.
Entry requirements

Only Turkish Airlines, from fourteen US airports: New York JFK and Newark, Boston, Washington, Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, Detroit, Dallas, Houston, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. United, Delta and American don't fly to Istanbul.
About 10 hours from New York or Washington, 10 and a half from Chicago, 11 and a half from Miami, 12 from Texas or Seattle, and 13 from Los Angeles or San Francisco. Most eastbound departures are overnight and land in the afternoon Istanbul time.
Istanbul Airport (IST), on the European side, about 30 minutes by the M11 metro to Gayrettepe, with a connection on to the center, or around 90 minutes to Taksim by Havaist bus; metered taxis wait outside arrivals around the clock. Sabiha Gökçen Airport, on the Asian side, has no flights from the US.
On a ten-to-thirteen-hour overnight flight, yes, more than on a short European hop. A lie-flat seat means you sleep, land in the afternoon and are useful the same day, and the lounge and baggage allowance are part of the price. Most of our clients who try it once don't go back to economy on this route.
No. Business class is the airline's top cabin. If you want a first class seat on the transatlantic leg, we can book it on British Airways via London or Lufthansa via Frankfurt, with business class on the short leg to Istanbul.
November through March, outside the Christmas weeks. Summer and the Eid holidays are the most expensive, and the airline's own business class sales tend to cover the off-season months.
Yes. Turkish allows a stopover in Istanbul on connecting itineraries at no extra fare, and offers a free hotel night to business class passengers on qualifying stopovers. We'll build it into your ticket.
Once the form with your preferred city pairs and travel dates is submitted, an agent will reach out to gather additional preferences and present the best available options. To secure a flight, simply complete the booking form sent via email.
Absolutely! An agent can personalize your flight to match your preferences, including airlines, schedules, and routes. They can also assist with changes that are often difficult to handle alone, as well as help with seat selection, meal choices, and other special requests.
Absolutely. That’s exactly what sets us apart. We have access to exclusive fares that aren’t available online, thanks to our special contracts with airlines. This allows us to offer highly competitive prices and unique deals you won’t find anywhere else.
Your dedicated agent and our 24/7 customer-care service will assist you with all the questions that you might have after booking a ticket.
On average, tickets are issued and sent to the client’s email within approximately one hour from the moment of the booking. Throughout the process, we provide regular updates to keep you informed and ensure peace of mind.
Most business and first-class tickets offer a high level of flexibility. However, before completing the booking, your agent will inform you of any exchange, refund, or other applicable restrictions, if there are any.
